Artist Statement

My artwork endeavors to bridge the chasm between communication and despair, particularly in the context of separation from family members grappling with illness. The weight of such separation often renders the expression of one's inner turmoil nearly impossible. Engaging in open conversations about these emotions can prove even more daunting, as communication becomes a labyrinth of coded messages, a delicate dance between truth and evasion.

Through meticulous multimedia compositions, my work confronts and interrogates the intricacies of communication itself. Guided by a series of visual principles, I weave together layers of meaning, challenging conventional notions of expression. Graffiti-like brush strokes serve as a visceral manifestation of the innate human desire to be acknowledged and understood in the face of profound pain. Each stroke fills space with repeated marks, mirroring the complexity of verbal exchanges where genuine emotions risk being misconstrued or overlooked.

Adopting a large-scale approach, my art compels viewers to confront their physical presence within the space, heightening their awareness of the overwhelming magnitude of the emotions conveyed. As they gaze upwards at the towering, coded message before them, they are immersed in a visceral experience that invites introspection and reflection on the complexities of human connection and communication.
